Many people relocating to Charlotte NC wish to explore the Charlotte Suburbs.  Charlotte Real Estate offers many options and our suburbs are very popular.   Where to begin?  Charlotte North Carolina is in Mecklenburg County.  There are several other cities within Mecklenburg County.  These include Matthews (south/southeast), Mint Hill (southeast), Cornelius (north), Davidson (north), Huntersville (north/northwest) and Pineville (south).  Each of these areas are distinctive and should be considered as you consider Charlotte Homes for Sale.

Within Charlotte Real Estate there are many popular neighborhoods.  One neighborhood is Ballantyne.  Ballantyne is a huge development in South Charlotte that is reflective of a resort type atmosphere with the Ballantyne Country Club as its anchor.  Myers Park is another very popular Charlotte neighborhood.  Myers Park is located south of uptown Charlotte and one of our older neighborhoods.  This neighborhood was largely the place of executives in the mid 1900's.  Myers Park continues to be very popular and anchored around Myers Park Schools.

The neighborhoods surrounding Myers Park are also popular including Dilworth, South End,  Elizabeth and Chantilly.  These are historic neighborhoods are noted with many craftsman style homes and unique architecture.  The neighborhoods are close to uptown and are very convenient for working in Uptown.  Southpark is another neighborhood that is very appealing.  Southpark is anchored around the Southpark Mall.  South Park Mall is Charlotte's "High end" mall and a HUGE attraction for shopping!  Southpark is south of Myers Park and much of Southpark also attend Myers Park Schools.

To the east/northeast of Charlotte is the University area anchored by UNCC (University of North Carolina-Charlotte Campus).  Our campus continues to grow and continues to be a popular place for college students.  To the north of Charlotte is Highland Creek.  Highland Creek is a very large and popular golf course community.  Highland Creek still continues to expand and actually has expanded beyond Mecklenburg County and into Cabarrus County.

The Counties surrounding Charlotte are all experiencing a lot of growth.  Many people relocating prefer a more rural atmosphere and prefer other options.  We have something for everyone!  Cabarrus County is to the northeast of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County.  There are several towns within Cabarrus County including Concord and Harrisburg.  Concord is the larger city and has a great historical area.  It is also home to the NASCAR Speedway and Concord Mills Outlet Mall.  Harrisburg is just east of the University area and very convenient if you are working in east Charlotte.

Union County is south/southeast of Charlotte Real Estate.  Union County has the towns of Weddington, Marvin, Wesley Chapel, Waxhaw and Monroe.  Marvin is just south of Ballantyne and has very popular schools.  Weddington, just east of Marvin NC,  is more familiar largely due to the reputation of Weddington Schools (Marvin Schools are still very new based on the explosive growth in the area).  Wesley Chapel is east of Weddington and attends the Weddington Area Schools.  Waxhaw is south of Marvin, Weddington and Wesley Chapel.  Waxhaw Real estate varies dramatically from the rural southern side of Waxhaw to the more upscale homes further north.  Monroe is the County Capital and covers a large area.  Monroe is a bit to far for many to commute and retains a lot of its older charm.

Charlotte NC border South Carolina.  York County is south of Charlotte on Hwy I-77.  South Carolina is only 9 miles south of Uptown Charlotte NC!   The closest cites to Charlotte in York County SC are Fort Mill, Tega Cay, lake Wylie, Clover and Rock Hill.  One of the attractive features of South Carolina is the reduced property tax structure.  Fort Mill is the first town as you cross over the SC border.  Fort Mill Schools are very popular and also a huge factor when considering SC.  Lake Wylie border Lake Wylie and attends the Clover School District.  Clover retains a rural atmosphere and all of the charm you would expect is a small town.

Gaston County is to the west of Charlotte.  Gaston County  includes the towns of Belmont, Mount Holly and Gastonia.

To the north of Charlotte is Iredell County.  Iredell County has Mooresville, Lake Norman and Statesville.

The greater Charlotte Real Estate Market varies dramatically and I have no doubt we can find the ideal home for you and your family.  Share your needs and as your Charlotte Realtor, I am here to serve you!
